The toughest non-stop cross country navigation exercise
in and around
North Oxfordshire, South Warwickshire and South Northampton
  • The Tour de Trigs Walking Competition is organised by Banbury and District Scout Council.
  • The Competition is open to members of the Scout and Guide organisations (Explorers, Rangers and Young Leaders upwards), Schools, Clubs, Youth Associations, other groups and organisations, and individuals in teams of three.
  • The Competition will start and finish at: The Warriner School, Bloxham, Nr Banbury (OS map reference Sheet 151. 436367)
  • Entries should be received not less than three weeks before the date of the Competition. If you are unable to make up a team, contact the Secretary, who may be able to put you in touch with other walkers in a similar position.
  • Completed application forms and cheque payable to "Tour de Trigs" for full amount to be sent with SAE to:-

  • Start times will be sent 10 days before the walk after which fees will not be returned.
  • The route will be issued 30 minutes before your start time. First team starts at 10:00
  • Accommodation on the gym floor is available at the School on Friday night from 20.00 hours. Be sure to bring a sleeping bag and mat. Breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning, from 7am till 8am, if you stay overnight. Meals are available for supporters (pre-ordered) throughout the weekend.
  • A snack bar will be open on Saturday between 08.30 and 12.45 and between 14.00 and 18.45. It will then open at 20.00 and remain open until 07.45 on Sunday.
  • Hot showers are available for all walkers.
  • The Tour de Trigs Shop will be open from 08.00 on Saturday and 10.00 until 13.00 on Sunday. Badges, souvenir wear, maps, batteries, reflective armbands, chocolate, soft drinks etc., will be on sale.
  • There will be a Kit Enquiry desk in the Hall before the walk starts.
  • Drinks will be available at all manned checkpoints. Don't forget your plastic mug. No food is provided en route.
  • A full list of rules will be sent to team leaders 10 days before the walk.

Bursary
A small bursary is available for Scouts and Guides under the ages of 24 who are in full time education or unemployed who wish to enter the Tour de Trigs, Hike competition.

To apply, please send your application in writing as to why you feel that the you have need of the Bursary, accompanied by an endorsement by your leader with the leaders name and contact details to:

Presentation of Trophies and Certificates to all walkers completing the Tour de Trigs within 24 hours will be made at 13:00 on Sunday.
Certificates will be sent with results, to those completing more than 35 miles.
Please try to attend the presentations, You may have won a trophy!
All members of the Scout and Guide Movement should attend in full uniform.
